Yogacharya - Poems

Vacaspati Chatterjee´s book on poems named "PRANER KATHA" has been published on January 2002. This book contains 70 poems. Each of them strikes the inner recesses of the human heart. They are an appeal to mankind not to head for the abysmal depths of degeneration. His poems are poignant possessing a coherence and compactness in ideas. Reading them tugs at one´s heart strings. The readers can be at one with the poems. Dr. Chatterjee's simplicity of thoughts, lucidity of expression have generated a wide acceptance amongst his readers.

Shutting my eyes
When my-self I see
My self world I see

When amidst my realm I enter
The world seems a falsity.

Then 1 hear the Anahata
See the Omkara
sAnd a million moons thousand suns source of world's beauty
Then I'm truly happy.

Finite me, restless me
Ceasing 1 see
The dot me, infinite me
The void I be.

Pondering about losing my self
When my self ceases
Then not being able to find my self
Shamchurn pervades.
I'm Shamachurn, Shamachurn I'm

There's no differentiation
Hark ye mortals, barring
Bhagavan Shamachurn
There's no salvation.

OBEISANCE

Amidst Kutastha You dwell
In Shamachurn's Form (beautiful)
In a similar way You exisiting
In the Universal Form; (all-pervading)

Creation preservation
emanates from You
Dissolution results in You
Nothing in this world can be
caused barring You.

From You evolves passion
From You indignation
From You evolves devotion
In You is caused retribution;

You are knowledge; You are darkness
You have Form, You are Formless
Light Prana-lamp in all-ness
My soul's realm I enlighten
The lamp of knowledge I hold on,
You're the Saviour,
Dynamism's Captor;

How do I worship O Dear
Your Feet Divine
Barring You I know nothing,
o Bhagavan Shamachurn,

Without Kriya You Can't
be worshipped
You're Kriya's Flower, through Kriya
You can be conquered
You're Kriya's Fruit; merging in You is
the Absolute Truth.
